For the Friends very first exclusive event, everyone gathered underneath the 17th Century Mulberry Tree on the Charlton House estate to hear tales of London’s Mulberry Tree heritage.
Peter Coles from the Conservation Foundation’s project Morus Londinium http://www.moruslondinium.org/ spoke to the Friends about the history of London’s Mulberry Trees and the history of the beautiful tree under which they sat.
With mulberry jam, made of the fruit picked straight from the tree and mulberry filled pastries, homemade by our Tea Rooms chef Donna, everyone sat on the lawn to listen to Peters riveting stories.
