Our beautiful rooms and spaces at Charlton House are available for meetings, conferences, weddings and community hire. All of these can be fully catered.
Meeting space
Charlton House’s delightful rooms and stunning halls are rich in period detail, featuring original fireplaces and intricate plasterwork ceilings. They offer flexible meeting spaces for training, conferences and board meetings and can accommodate up to 120 people. Combined with our friendly service, Charlton House is an ideal place to meet and train.
Hire charge includes flip chart, paper and pens as well as use of data projectors, laptops and TV/video (subject to availability).
A varied menu, including gluten-free, vegetarian and vegan food, is available from the Charlton House Tearoom; refreshments and catering can be served in your meeting room.
Weddings
Nestled in acres of beautiful parkland, Charlton House provides the perfect backdrop to your big day.
Built during the reign of James I and one of the finest examples of Jacobean domestic architecture in the country, the mansion enjoys a fascinating history of intrigue and romance. Our beautiful wedding halls and reception areas are rich in period detail, featuring original fireplaces, wood panelling and intricate strapwork ceilings.
You and your guests will treasure photographs taken in our lovingly-restored walled gardens and, on a warm summer’s afternoon, celebrating your special day with a glass of champagne in the soft tranquillity of the Peace Garden will be a moment to remember.
Our list of caterers each offer a unique and tailored menu for your special day. From canapes, elegant three course meals and food from all over the world our caterers will help to make your day that little bit extra special.

Funerals
At Charlton House we provide a personal and sympathetic reception service; an opportunity to remember loved ones in a comfortable and peaceful setting. We can accommodate large or small groups and can provide catering tailored to suit your needs.
Community hire
We have a number of rooms of various shapes and sizes available to hire for your club, society or gathering - whatever it may be!
Children's parties
Charlton Assembly Rooms is available for hire on Saturdays for children's parties. Any four-hour period between 10am and 6pm costs £150 (Mon - Sat) and £175 on a Sunday. We also request a deposit of £50, refundable following your event, subject to terms and conditions.
Filming
Charlton House is available for film and TV hire. For full details please get in touch.
Afternoon Tea
Afternoon Tea can be booked for small or large groups of visitors within Charlton House. Cream tea and a selection of cakes and sandwhiches are avalible while all served with exquisite views of the both the house and its grounds. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance and must be between Mon-Fri, 9am – 4pm. Please see our menu or contact us for further details.

Contact us
If you are interested in volunteering, hiring our spaces or making a donation, or you would like to speak to someone from the Trust, Greenwich Heritage Centre or Charlton House and Assembly Rooms, please use the contact form and add the subject to your email. We aim to respond to enquiries within a week. Please bear with us as the Trust is managed with minimum staff and has to prioritise visits in person or on the phone.
