Charlton House is situated within Charlton, Greenwich and is easily accessed via foot, train, tube, bus or car.

Bus routes: 53, 54, 380, 422 and 486

Train: Charlton Station, then 10-minute walk (uphill)

Tube: North Greenwich, then take 486 bus to Charlton

Charlton Tea Room open Mon – Fri, 9am – 4pm 

House Open Mon - Fri, 9am-10pm and Sat 9pm - 5pm (The Tearooms are however not open on a Saturday)

It may not always be possible to explore the entirety house as it is used for events. Please call ahead to talk to a member of staff to find out how to make the most of your visit.

Charlton Tea Room

Charlton Tea Room open Monday - Friday 9am - 4pm.

Serving a delicious selection of hot food, cakes and bakes, and both hot and cold beverages.

We also host special Afternoon Tea and Cream Tea for both small and large groups. Please note we ask for 24 hours’ notice.

Book Library

As well as a wide selection of books, the library also loans DVDs, videos, CDs and Playstation games. For younger visitors there's a children's play area with puzzles and toys to keep them occupied.

Toy Library

A large selection of toys, books and games to play with here or at home. Come and meet other parents and get advice from our experienced staff. As well as fun stuff we have an extensive range of baby safety equipment.

Japanese Language School

Classes in Japanese from beginners to advanced levels as well as English classes for Japanese speakers.

We aim to respond to enquiries within a week. Please bear with us as the Trust is managed with minimum staff and has to prioritise visits in person or on the phone.
