Charlton House is situated within Charlton, the Royal Borough of Greenwich and is easily accessed via foot, train, tube, bus or car.

The House is temporarily closed to the public, with the exception of scheduled events and hires. Stay tuned to our social media for updates.

CHARLTON HOUSE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC, WITH ACCESS FOR PRE-BOOKED MEETINGS, WEDDINGS, AND GROUPS ONLY.

Getting to Charlton House

Our address: Charlton House, Charlton Road, London SE7 8RE

Bus routes: 53, 54, 380, 422 and 486.

Train: Charlton Station (British Rail) then 10-minute walk (uphill) or 486 bus to Warren Walk. Proceed up hill to Charlton House.

Tube: North Greenwich (Jubilee Line), then take 486 bus to Warren Walk. Proceed up hill to Charlton House.

Parking at Charlton House

Pay and display parking is available in front of Charlton House.

  • £1 per hour between the hours of 8am and 5pm, 50p per hour between 5pm and 9pm.
  • The car park is closed between 9pm and 8am.
  • Blue Badge holders can park for free in designated disabled bays when displaying a Blue Badge.

Green Goddess Pub

Each Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, Common Rioters serve up a fantastic mix of beers (cask, keg, can), ciders, wines, mead, and low and no alcohol drinks. 

Friday: 14:00 - 20:00 (after Brass on the Patio)
Saturday: 13:00 - 20:00
Sunday: 13:00 - 20:00

GLL Book Library

As well as a wide selection of books, the library also loans DVDs, videos, CDs, and Playstation games. For younger visitors there's a children's play area with puzzles and toys to keep them occupied.

A large selection of toys, books and games to play with here or at home. Come and meet other parents and get advice from our experienced staff. As well as fun stuff we have an extensive range of baby safety equipment.

Classes in Japanese from beginners to advanced levels as well as English classes for Japanese speakers.
