Formed in September 2018, the Brompton Quartet is comprised of musicians from the UK, Austria and Slovenia, studying at the Royal College and Royal Academy of Music in London. Although they have only been playing together for a few months, they have already worked with artists including Daniel Rowland (Brodsky Quartet), Mats Zitterqvist (Chamber Orchestra of Europe), Mark Messenger, Jon Thorne and the Harlem Quartet.

All four members of the group are active orchestral musicians and soloists, and have participated in festivals including the St. Endellion festival, Uppingham Int, Music Festival Peterborough, Prussia Cove, Padova and Stift International Music Festival. Prizes won by individual members of the group include 1st prize at the 13th Concorso Internazionale per Giovani Strumentisti, 3rd prize and the special Szymanowski award at the 1st International Karol Szymanowski Competition in Katowice, Poland, and 1st prize at the 1st International Tartini Competition, Cambridge University Instrumental Award, and the Inaugural Peterhouse Camerata Musica chamber music prize.

The Brompton quartet are now excited to continue working on a diverse range of new repertoire and to perform as much as possible in the coming year – they look forward to upcoming recitals around London, and to traveling to Slovenia to perform in Summer 2019. They will also be performing in the final of the St Martin in the Fields Chamber Music Competition in March.
