Built during the reign of James I and one of the finest examples of Jacobean domestic architecture in the country, Charlton House enjoys a fascinating history of intrigue and romance.

Our beautiful wedding halls and reception areas are rich in period detail, featuring original fireplaces, wood panelling and intricate strapwork ceilings.

You and your guests will treasure photographs taken in our lovingly restored walled gardens and, on a warm summer’s afternoon, toasting your new spouse with a glass of champagne in the soft tranquillity of the Peace Garden, will surely be a moment to remember.

Hold both your ceremony and reception in our beautiful Jacobean manor house and grounds, with three rooms licensed for civil ceremonies offering the perfect setting for exchanging your vows.

The Grand Salon, Long Gallery, and Old Library are all available for civil ceremony hire featuring beautiful wood panelling, marble fireplaces, original Jacobean strapwork ceilings, and stunning views across the grounds and gardens. The Grand Salon holds 80 people, and the Long Gallery allows 110.

To book your ceremony at Charlton House you must also contact Royal Borough of Greenwich Registry Office. Whilst we are able to hold a date until you confirm details with the registrar, we would advise that you confirm their availability as early as possible.
